Ned and I decided that all those coins were going to buy us a plane ticket to South Carolina to play golf at Haig Point. We had quite a time getting to the place where we were staying. We were trying to get to Daufuskie Island, South Carolina and I had no idea that would be so difficult. We left Salt Lake City and flew to Atlanta. There we caught a connecting flight to Savannah, Georgia. When we arrived in Savannah we found out that the friends were not there to pick us up. We found out that we could rent a car and drive it to South Carolina. The drive was beautiful. It was weird to drive through a place where the medians had more than cement and dirt. Everything was beautiful and green. Once we got to South Carolina we took a taxi to the
Embarkation Center where we waited in the cold wind for the ferry boat to take us across to the island. Once we got to the island we were driven in a van to the house. Once we got to the house, no one was there. We helped ourselves to some food and then guessed which room was ours.
The house we were staying in was beautiful:
This is how we got around the island:
This is the ferry that we had to take to get to the island:
While Ned golfed I hung out with Linda Sarlo and Peggy Fishburn. We shopped, walked around the island, had lunch and even went to a home show. The show was actually a bunch of giant houses all decked out for Christmas. It was really interesting. Ned golfing:
I rode around in the cart with him one day. The course was right by the ocean:
All along the golf courses there were tons of alligators:
One night we took the ferry and went over to Hilton Head. One of the PGA majors is played at this course. This is the 18th green:
Ned looks like he totally belongs there!
Before we left, I decided I wanted to take pictures of some of my favorite houses on the island. They are so amazing! This is just a few of them:
Our final dinner before we left the island:
We had a great time on our first big trip as a couple! Thanks for the fun!!
