Today, Abby found me working on the laptop and she decided that the computer was a checkout counter. She started handing me dolls and things and told me she was buying them. I would run them over the keyboard and say, "Beep." It was so fun that we played "store" for about an hour. She turned Barbies into various fruits and all of her princess Barbies turned into fruit snacks. She kept calling me "worker." It was really funny.
All of the light switches in our house are too high for Abby to reach. The other day I noticed the light in the TV room turning on and off and I wondered how she was doing that. She had dragged her little chair into the room and was standing on it turning the light on and off. She has since realized that the chair is a valuable tool. She drags it everywhere just to turn lights on and off.
Abby goes to bed with a whole host of friends and other items. I usually talk her out of a few things, but she is quite the negotiator. Tonight, I told her that there were too many things in her bed and she couldn't take anymore. She looked at me and said, "How about I take just two?" I said, "No, there are too many." She said, "Um, just one. Okay?" We settled on one.
Lately everything is too loud. She will cover her ears and say, "Mom, that's too loud." The blender, blow dryer, vacuum, toilets flushing and a whole lot of other items are on her "too loud" list. I don't know what this is all about. It's kind of wearing off, so maybe it was just a phase.
Abby is a good sport to get up in the morning and go to wherever I take her while I am at work. When I go to get her out of her bed she asks, "Where am I going?" I reply with one of the places that she goes and no matter where I say, she is always happy and excited to go. She has been a good sport since she was 6 months old. We love this little girl.
Today, I got my first baby gift for the new baby. Abby was so excited when I came home with a gift bag. She thought it was for her. I showed her the beautiful blanket and adorable little hats and then told her it was for the baby. She said, "Oh okay," and walked away. When it was nap time she grabbed the blanket and I had to tell her it was the baby's and she said, "Okay. Can I have it." I have a feeling that this business of adding a sibling to our family will be a little tricky.

She is such a sweetheart! Don't worry about her adjusting to the new baby- you said it yourself, she's a good sport. I'm sure she'll be the best big sister ever!
