I have noticed that most people break up their vacation posts into parts. This creates many parts in a great series. I have decided to be no different. Why reinvent the wheel when this idea already works. It may take days to get this all logged in, but I am going to start with our beach day. We arrived on Sunday in Orange County after Abby's first airplane ride (which she loved, and did very well on) and we went to meet the rest of Ned's family. Somehow we missed the part about going to the beach. I'm sure they told us and we just didn't listen. We went to a great beach and let Abby get her first taste of the ocean. Ned loves the beach. After serving his mission in Australia and living right by the beach, he often longs to go there. This was a great day for the beach, except that we were missing ALL of our swim stuff and our beach stuff. Everyone generously helped us out. Erin let Ned borrow a pair of cropped sweat pants and she had an extra swim diaper for Abby. I rolled up my already too long pants and just hoped the water didn't pull them off.
As I started taking pictures of this wonderful day, I affectionately nicknamed it the "White Trash Beach Day." I think the pictures speak for themselves - or they would if I could get them to upload. When blogger begins to cooperate, you'll see them.

Abby loved the beach so much. She played in the water, in the sand and with the other kids. She ran and ran and ran. This video was one of my most favorite souvenirs from the trip. It is priceless.
Thanks to everyone who loaned us towels, swim diapers and sweat pants so that we could enjoy the day along with everyone else.
