30 Days of Gratitude....(a lot of catching up)

#12 - Washer and Dryer.  Who's not grateful for those. Laundry = awful.  Washer and dryer = less awful.  I do tons of laundry.  I do at least one load a day.  So EVERY day I am grateful for my washer and dryer.  If only they would invent something that folds, irons and puts away the clothes.  I would write about that alone every day for 30 days.  I am grateful for my washer and dryer.

#13 - My dishwasher.  Washing dishes are the bane of my existence on this plant.  Because of a 'tragic' dishwasher related accident, I didn't have one for a L-O-N-G time.  When I finally got one installed it made things easier.  A lot easier.  This doesn't mean that now I love doing dishes.  Oh no.  Even the act of putting them in the machine drives me mad.  All this means is now, I don't have to stand at my sink for at least one hour a day.  I am grateful for my dishwasher.

#14 - Following the appliance theme: I am grateful for my stove.  This thing is ugly, old and ugly a couple more times, but it's a gas range.  Score!  I love cooking with gas. It's faster, easier and more predictable.  After cooking on a gas range I find the electric ones to be a total joke.  With a gas stove, when you turn the  flame down, you immediately get the reaction you are looking for - it stops boiling.  Wonderful.  While making French toast this morning and then cookies this evening, it hit me......BAM....you are grateful for this ugly gas stove.

*These are OBVIOUSLY not the actual pictures of my appliances.  They are pretty clothes though.  Actual photographs would have revealed possible dust, dirt and the unfinishedness of my house.  Don't worry...unfinishedness is a word, well it is now.

#15 - My shower.  When we moved into our home the downstairs bathroom had the most ugly green jetted tub in it.  Now, this tub was a contour kind for an old man.  It had to go.  When it went, Ned and his dad installed a wonderful shower.  This thing is perfect!  The shower is the perfect size for a nice warm, steamy.  It's about as awesome as showers go.  Now if only I could have a shower each day without Abby and Zoey for an audience.  I suppose once I'm sure that Abby won't carry Zoey down the stairs while I'm in the shower, I can leave them aloneish to play.  Maybe one day....maybe.

#16 - The baby swing.  I could sing this thing's praises all day everyday.  Last night, Zoey dang near slept in the thing all night long.  This teething baby is hating life and wouldn't sleep anywhere else.  The swing is my go-to.  This thing can swing side to side or front to back; sing a multitude of songs and make nature noises; and it has darling birds that twirl and leaves that go up and down.  So to sum it up...AWESOME!  I have gone through a ton of batteries for this thing and they have been well worth it.  The swing also saved me countless times with Abby too.  Not as many times as with Zoey, but still one of the best things we own.

I hear you on the gas stove thing. We have electric in our apartment and I really do not enjoy cooking on it! Plus, I can't do any canning on it because it'll ruin it. Here's to hopes of a gas stove in the future! haha. (Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to have a stove to cook on period...but, ya know...)

I agree completely, I spend more time washing clothes/dishes and cooking than anything else. How did the pioneers do it? I have gas stove envy and I totally wish I had one again. There is SUCH a difference. I do have your same baby swing and I loved it with Aimee and Ben, but now I've lent it to my sister because when Sarah was like 4 1/2 months she would propel herself forward and climb out. We are thinking of leasing her to the circus for some extra holiday cash. That girl can get anywhere and everywhere!
