Missionary Monday on Tuesday

"Family!

Well this week was a good week! We have found some really great people, that actually are keeping their commitments and everything. One couple Carla and Luis are great. She read the part of the Book of Mormon that we marked and then started reading it from the beginning and was almost through first Nephi just a couple days later, she understands really well, and is genuinely concerned that she´s gonna die and go to Hell...so we told her we could help her in that regard.. haha. But they are living together and aren´t married...which is a hard thing to get people to get married so they can get baptized, but they know they need to so I'm hoping..."

"Yesterday at church after sacrament meeting we went to the back of the room and a guy was standing there that we had never seen.  We went and met him and he said he knew some people in the church and he was bored so he came to church for the last meeting. We taught him last night at the family´s house. His family is really Evangelist and he wouldnt´let us go over there. Anyway he has a lot of doubts.. (his pastor told him that Mormons will go to hell) but he has gone to our church a couple times before and he told us that he doesn´t know what it is, but something keeps driving him to go back to our church. He's scared his family will reject him and everything if he were a member, but he said he would love to be able to serve a mission like us somewhere else and preach the word. So I hope he can use some faith and follow what he feels is right!"

"We are having a baptism this Saturday! I'm not sure if I´ve told you about her, but she is the caretaker of one of our members, and she has a little daughter.  We usually had just gone over and talked to the member and taught her, but we decided that we wanted to try and talk to Karina (the caretaker) too. So we invited her to be baptized and she has come to church  and now is getting baptized Saturday! I'm really excited!

Right now as a mission we have been reading the Book of Mormon cover to cover together, and also reading Joseph Smith History as part of our companion study everyday. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that the true church was restored through him, and that still today we have a prophet that receives divine revelation for the world. I´m so grateful for this knowledge and the peace and joy it brings to me."
