The Spider Bow

I have this spider bow.
I bought it for Abby's second Halloween.  It matched a darling shirt with a cute spider that had rickrack for legs and fun googly eyes.  It was the cutest Halloween shirt I've ever seen.  The shirt only lasted one wear but the bow survived.  Abby's always hated it and wouldn't ever let me put it in her hair after that one time.  Every now and then she'll come and tell me that she saw "that spider bow in the cabinet".  Today she ran to me and said, "I looked in that cabinet and saw a little material and it was the SPIDER BOW!  It's still here!"  I laughed and told her not to worry about and she asked that it be destroyed.  Later, I pulled it out and she literally jumped back in fear.  Hysterical fear.  She acted like I had just waved a giant, live, taranchula in front of her. I decided to keep it non-the-less, just in case Zoey would wear it next Halloween.  I waved it in front of Zoey and she pulled her hands in and made a very scared face.  Apparently, the spider bow has got to go.  Who knew that ribbon and a black puff would freak a child out so terribly.  The fear was out of control.  I kept the bow long enough to take a picture and now I'm going to throw it away for good.  I still think it's cute. I wish they agreed.
