The First Hints of Spring and the Crab Apple Tree

We have a yard now and everyday there are new flowers coming up out of the ground.  Like these:

We also had this crab apple tree:

Beautiful right?  It dropped crab apples all over the cars and the driveway. We kept stepping on them and tracking them in the house.  Those stain ya know. We decided that the answer to the problem was this:

Sad right?  We have some ticked off neighbors.  It ended up like this:

In the rest of the yard there are all kinds of things sprouting up.  We love it!
