Mother's Day 2009

I know that this post is days late - I wrote it all those days ago and I couldn't get the pics to cooperate so I had to save it and revisit it when I had more patience. Enjoy!

What do you say about your mom? There is too much! I love my mom so much, and she is so good to me. She works so hard to help us out and be supportive of all the crazy things I do. I love being a mom too. It's the best job in the world. I love hearing Abby call me in the morning, "Mom, Mama, Mommy!" I have loved her from the second I knew she was coming. The second she was born, I started sobbing out of relief that she had made it into this life in one piece, and that she was mine. This is me and Abby the day after she was born. Pay no attention to the giant nose on my face. I grew a new nose! Who knew that could even happen?
On Saturday, my phone stopped working. I was freaking out a little. I called Ned and asked him to take care of it. I couldn't even call the Sprint operator or my voicemail. When Ned got home that afternoon, he told me that he has something that would solve ALL my problems. I wondered where he'd gotten a million dollars. Kidding. He gave me my present early and it was a new phone! It's so dang cute. The reason my old phone was working, was that Sprint had activated the new one and so it made the old one obsolete. He knew he couldn't hold me off any longer so he gave me it early. Thanks Honey! On Sunday, we started off the day by heading to church. I am starting to love my calling more and more each week. I am the Primary Chorister and to help the little ones sing to their moms, was great! They did a great job! Abby came from Nursery with my first ever child made (well, sort of) Mother's Day gift.

After church we headed to my parents house to talk to my brother. He was so funny to talk to. He doesn't have too much of an accent, but he does say, "like" in between every other word. He said that all he wants to do, is come home and sleep. He says that his body is tired and weary. I don't blame him. He has gained 20 pounds and his pants are floods. I am thinking - shopping trips!

After our chat, we went to my Aunt's house and had our annual Mother's Day dinner. Abby had a great time playing with my cousin's little girl Gracie. They had the best time. It's always so great to see everyone celebrate our Mother's and our Grandma.

After dinner, we went to see Ned's mom. It was fun to go and see her and celebrate Mother's day with her as well. We are having a party for Mother's Day next week, so we didn't open presents or anything. Abby had some more fun playing with her grandma. They colored pictures and ate noodles.

We were so lucky to see both of our moms and my grandma. I feel so blessed to have my mom so close and involved in my life. I am feeling so blessed to be a mom. Happy Mother's Day to all of you mother's out there!

It's not your nose, it's the angle the photo was taken at. It isn't a post birth photo if you don't have a giant nose because our husbands do not, I repeat, DO NOT know how to photograph us in a flattering light.

I guess I can't blame them, they were just traumatized from watching the birth.
