The Eighth Month Old Wonder

Zoey was 8 months old yesterday.  Cute baby girl!  She has the longest most beautiful eyelashes and cheeks that are perfect for kissin'.  Here's a few things that this baby girl can do, or has done.
  • She has one tooth.  ONE.  It's on the bottom and it was a beast to get in there.
  • She tries to stand up to things.
  • When Ned walks in the house she gets so excited to see him that she nearly falls out of your arms or whatever thing she is sitting in.
  • She still doesn't nap on a consistent schedule, but when she sleeps it's better than a quick cat-nap.
  • No crawling yet, but lots of rolling and flipping from bum to stomach and almost back again.
  • Zoey always wakes up happy.  She NEVER wakes up sad.
  • Zoey loves the bath and loves the toys in the bath.
  • Sitting on the floor playing with toys is one of her favorite past times.  The other is jumping in the doorway jumper.
  • She eats tons of solid food and I give her 'tastes' of everything and she LOVES it! She's a food girl!
  • She went through a phase of absolute screaming to get our attention.  She'd scream so loud and then sit there.  She still does that now and then.
  • She babbles constantly.  She says and may be starting to get what it means, "Da da" and "ba ba", "hi".  That's daddy and bottle.  Two important things.
  • She'd rather swing in the doorway jumper than jump.
  • Zoey laughs so hard at Abby.  She laughs like a real person, like Zoey.  It's awesome!
  • Zoey loves my dad.  They are good buddies and I jokingly call him the 'Baby whisperer' because she will fall dead asleep in his arms.
  • Her hair is uncontrollable.  Every morning it is a rats nest in the back.  She cries when I comb it out. What 8 month old has to cry when their mom combs their hair?  Just mine I guess.
  • She does NOT roll around in her bed.  She will push herself all the way to the edge and bury her head in the crib bumper - thus, the rats nest in the morning.
  • She totally eats her toes and is fascinated by her left hand.  She spends a lot of time examining it.  Maybe she'll be a lefty.
The other day I realized that this was Zoey's first Christmas.  It was a little hard to believe because really feels like she's been here all along.  She is an absolute joy!  I love watching her do new things, grow and change.  Happy 8 months my Zo Zo!

As an added bonus...here is a video of the screaming that was/is so prevalent in our home.  She's not really even mad and be careful it's loud. Enjoy!
