Missionary Monday on Wednesday

Once again Wednesday showed up and once again I haven't posted Nathan's update.  I've haven't been slacking for a bad reason either....we've been outside soaking up every last ounce of sunshine and warmth before temperatures turn frigid and awful.

November 1, 2010:
"Hello!! well this was a very good successful week! I don´t think I have ever been so tired everynight this far on the mission! I love it! Elder Jones and I make a pretty good team. The best part about it is that we can each give each other advice and we improve. We have made a lot of good goals and plans and are putting them into action. We have seen a lot of success this week. We taught a lot of new people, had some investigators in church, and programmed (committed...the word programmed is derived from the word commit in Spanish which is programar ) a few for baptism! We just barely missed getting the "Standards of Excellence" for the mission with meeting goals and things, so this week, we know what we need to do to get them!!"

"So far I have actually only had 2 meals at members houses due to conflicts and the members traveling to the temple and all, but they are really good cooks, and we have some set up this week.  They make really good food, some of it the taste you just have to get a little used to... but how could you not love Argentine food??  Here are the essentials...oil, salt, and mayonaisse!!!! In everything!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha I love it!"

"One story that I will share... well at the first of the week we were going around doing contacts (knocking) when we just decided that getting return appointments wasn´t enough because for the most part you come back, and they don´t let you in anyway and it's just a waste of our time.  So, we decided that we were going to make it a goal that we try to get in right then even if for just 5 minutes.  Three times in contacts...switching off testifying and trying to get in...so the first door we go to the guy answered the door (mid 20s) and he says you came at a really bad time.. (normally we would have said oh.. really? well can we come back at another time?) but with our new goal we started testifying and explaining how are message can bless families. We asked again and he said come in...so we start reading a little bit out of the family proclamation.  He stopped us mid sentence when he said, "We are about to get seperated this week and we´ve just been fighting." So we read the part about how to have success in a family and marriage. We had them commit to some things and set a return appointment...so...the moral of the story is.. though we may have come at the "worst time" it turns out that it was the best time for us to stop by and help them, because that would not have met near as much to them...they have a little daughter and I really think that helped them. I am hoping that there will have been some improvement this week when we pass by again. We were blessed for our persistence and them as well."

"There was quite a bit of rain this week, we had to come home mid day one day and change our shoes, but other than that a jacket and umbrellla were good enough!  I really like this area and I know we are going to continue to see success as we are diligent and obedient."
