Missionary Monday on Tuesday
Well this has been quite a different week that I have had! Nothing I expected to happen happened.... I´ll just do a recap of the week. We´ll see how much I can remember. So, Monday night we get back to the apartment and there is a missed call from our mission president, President Villalba. So of course we are all thinking.. what did we do?? hahaha. anyway.. So I said, "I ain´t scared... I´ll call him." Anyway, so I call him back and he starts asking me about our converts and the area, and then he asked me if I had any "eternal dreams" the night before... uhhh.. no??... well anyway after that he said he was calling me to tell me that I was going to be the new financial secretary of the mission!!! haha ( I guess the financial callings are in our blood.*Brad was also the financial secretary while he was on his mission.*) He told me he had fasted and prayed about it and he knew that I was the one that it should be. Then he told me that I needed to be at the mission home Wednesday morning by 8 to start training. So Tuesday was a little bit random, basically just packing and getting everything in order to leave. My companion also left the area because there was no other missionary to put there so we had to get everything in order. Wednesday we had to wake up at 3:30 to be in Rosario by 8. I got to the mission home a little bit after 8 and just started out the day "shadowing" the current financiero. He is way cool, Elder Mitchell, he´s from California and a great trainer. So now I am here in the offices. I´m not sure how it all was in Brad´s mission, but I´ll just tell you how it is here. So, our "apartment" is in the back of the property of the mission home, and the offices are in between the two. I love it!!!!!!!!!!! haha. So right now my companion is Elder Mitchell and Elder Seguel, from Buenos Aires, he is the "librarian"? I'm not sure how it would translate... but he handles all the mail and everything. So they are my comps, and Elder Mitchell will be here until the end of the transfer and then I'm on my own. They are my comps but we share our area with the assistants, so a lot of the time we just end up going on divisions with who can leave and what not. There are 2 other secretaries that live with us too. So right now there are 7 of us. I sleep on the top bunk right now.. they are stacked 3 high. haha.
I really enjoy being here, and the area is awesome, of course it has some of the best Elders working in it, which also helps. We work in the office Monday through Friday 8-4:30 and then work for the rest of the night. President Villalba called me into his office just to prep me for my new job and all and said that he wanted me to know that I was called by revelation to be the new financial secretary, and the Lord calls his servants when they´re working. So that made me feel really good to know that the Lord accepts the work I have done. I really like being here, but I was sad to leave my other area, it was closed because of the lack of missionaries to fill it, but the other Elders of the other area are going to take care of our investigators that are to be baptized, so I´m hoping they will do good for them! Let´s see, Elder Mitchell has been here for 9 months, so it is possible that I will leave the offices with only 3 transfers left.
