Cutting Birthdays
Today, I was joking with Abby about her turning five. I told her that, "I am going to take my scissors and cut all our birthdays right out of the calender, and then we can all stay as old as we are." I told her that she could just stay four, Zoey could stay one, and most importantly, I could stay 29. We joked about how five year old little girls go to Kindergarten and I wanted her to stay with me. She was almost on board with the idea until she realized that if you don't have a birthday, you don't get presents. This realization was brought to her attention by her father. sheesh. She got so upset that she started yelling, "Mom, don't cut our birthdays! Don't cut our birthdays!" I promised her I wouldn't cut her birthday (maybe I'll still cut mine...) and I figured the problem was solved until I was tucking her into bed. She got all snuggled in her bed and looked up at me and said, "Do you promise to not cut our birthdays?" Poor kid she really thinks that I have the power to cut our birthdays out of the calender. She must think that I am pretty powerful....my plan is working! *insert evil laugh here*
