June 11: Our 8th anniversary
That's right 8 whole years. We celebrated by going to dinner at Kobe and then Ned game me this:
This is the original diamond from my wedding ring. The dang ring broke on Christmas Eve two years ago and I thought the diamond was lost forever. A couple months later Sherry found the ring in Ned's office next to the garbage can. Holy crap! Ned reset the diamond in this beautiful setting. It's my new favorite thing! Thanks Love!
June 20: Happy 32nd Birthday Ned!
For Ned's birthday we had dinner with our family, Bob's family, their parents and Lori's family at a restaurant that now I can't remember the name of. We had a private room which was really nice.
Happy Birthday to Ned!!
June 25: Brad and Natalie got Married! That's right, my little brother got married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a beautiful day with a yummy dinner at the Lion House which ended with a wonderful reception. I had the privilege of being Natalie's escort in the temple and that was such a neat experience. These two are so cute and in love. Thanks for letting us all share in your special day!
The happy couple
The whole family minus Nathan. We missed him especially this summer.
Our family. My cute little flower girls!
July 4:Independence day - Richey Breakfast, swimming, BBQ, fireworks and fun!
Abby trying to break the pinata at the breakfast.
Swimming at the OGCC with Wallis cousins
Fireworks at Aunt Lori's house
Abby and Rachel - sweet cousins.
July 7: Abby's first dentist visit and a trip to the zoo
We started this day with a trip to the dentist. Abby was so brave! She wasn't super excited about that thing they put in your mouth during an x-ray, but other than that, she was fine.
The zoo. We try and make a trip to the zoo each summer. The kids love the elephants. Also, it's not as good as I remember from when I was a kid, but the new dinosaurs that growl are pretty cool. Real dinosaurs would be better though....
A family portrait of hot sweaty people. We're still cute.
July 16: Sherry and Grant got married!
Sherry and Grant tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in such a beautiful setting. They had a wonderful dinner following the ceremony and then ended the night with a magnificent reception. Everything was just lovely. It was almost magical. Thank you for letting us share in your wonderfully special day!
The happy couple
Me and my beautiful flower girls - also, that darling baby is not mine. She was so cute though.
And the whole family. I wish that I wasn't the only one with a stupid look on my face. Doesn't everyone look nice? Such pretty colors!
July 24: Pioneer Day! Fireworks and food...yummy
July 28: A trip to Idaho Falls and Bear World - Awesome!
Ned had business in Idaho Falls and so me and the girls tagged along. It was fun to see Rick, Nancy and their family and then to go to Bear World. We went on the curator's tour where you get to feed the bears from a truck. That was really fun except that Zoey was so desperately trying to jump out. The bears came right up the vehicle and even tried to climb it. After the tour, Abby and I fed the baby bears milk bottles. So sweet! We got to stand right up close and pet them. There was also a petting zoo and little carnival rides. It was a fun little day.
On the curator tour
Isn't my kid just darling feeding that cute bear?
July 31: A week in Bear Lake with my family
We spent the week at Bear Lake and had so much fun. We played games, ate good food and of course played in the lake.
Abby posing on the deck of the cabin
Out on the beach
Zoey playing games with Great-Grandma and Grandma
Cute sisters
Abby and Brad playing in the water. Brad built her a raft that she floated around on. She was in heaven until her mother jumped in the water and announced that it was cold. After that, we were all done swimming. Oops.
August 8: Fishing at the Richard's Cabin with Uncle Brad
We took a little day trip to Natalie's family cabin to go fishing. We had lunch and enjoyed a beautiful day in the mountains.
Abby and Brad fishing. The only person to catch anything was Natalie!
Zoey just wanted to run!
Mountain beauty. We had to rock out to John Denver to and from the cabin. With beauty like that, it just called for it.
August 15: A day at Lagoon
Abby had a great day riding the rides. Zoey really loved the rides, but also spending time with grandpa.
Zoey loved the boats and ringing the bell
Waiting for some ride. Probably the carousel.
Zoey and Grandpa on the little roller coaster. She was mad that the ride was over.
Another shot of hot sweaty people. This was right before Ned, Abby and I went on the water ride and got just soaked.
Ned had a really fun time playing ALL the games. He won quite a lot of stuff and he was gracious enough to give it to Abby. She was so happy that her dad was kind enough to spend so much money on these new "friends".

August 25: Some more "cabin" time
Helping dad move the crib
This look seems to say, "Don't you dare take this rubber ducky."
Well, that takes care of the summer. I really intended to recap in one post and with just a few items. That just isn't going to happen. There was just so much that we did. Rest assured, there is another post in the near future.

Loved the post Mel. And I must admit, I laughed to see your tall dad in that tiny roller coaster. You should blow it up and frame it! haha. Glad you had such an awesome summer!
Wow what a fun summer! I'm a little jealous! Your girls are absolute dolls!!
