Stuff from Pinterest:

My goal to be more crafty has been going well-ish.  I have made a few things that I stole from Pinterest.  As previously stated, everything I have done has a classic, "beg, borrow, and stolen" vibe.  I am super good at taking other's ideas and tweeking them.  As far as coming up with something new, well that just never happens.  Never.  I should warn you that all these pictures were taken with my phone.  My camera's memory card is full again.  I'm too lazy to deal with that yet.

The Tulle Wreath:
Location: above Zoey's crib
I've seen wreaths similar to this on Pinterest, but it was Ainsley that made an Autumn door wreath and then thought it would be super cute to do a big one for a girls room.  I used a straw wreath form (it was bigger and shockingly cheaper than a Styrofoam one) and spools of tulle.  Once I decided how long the tulle should be, I cut all the tulle into strips.  I used pink, purple and a sparkly white tulle.  Then I tied them all around the wreath form in a pattern.  When it was all done, I glued a feather boa onto the center of the wreath.  Again, the feathers were Ainsley's idea.  Then I put a ribbon on it for hanging purposes and it was done.  I love this thing!  It goes really well in their room especially with the painting of the ballerina dancers.

Framed printable words:
Location: bathroom, above toilet
So, this lady had done an entire wall in framed words that she had created.  They were in her kid's bathroom and the idea was that she wanted her children to read the words everyday.  Some of the signs were: Dare to be different, Love is Spoken here (that seemed weird in a bathroom), Comb your hair, Wash your hands, brush your teeth, and a really long one about I love you this much.  SoThere was a link to download her printables so I downloaded them.  Once I got them on the computer and even printed a couple, they were too small and the colors were't right for my bathroom.  I decided that I am capable of making my own.  I used her idea and her pattern or lack of pattern for the color of each letter.  I used the program Microsoft Publisher (I love this program, it can do anything) and made these.  Of the sets of words she had, I thought these were the most pertinent to our home at this time.  Even Zoey will point at the signs and tell me, "Wash yourd hands, brush yourd  teef."  All good reminders.  The colors are a pretty close match to the colors on my shower curtain hangers.  I found the frames on clearance at Michael's.  I thought that the frames didn't need to match, and I like it better that they don't.  I printed them onto cardstock paper I had lying around.  They add something fun to the bathroom.

Birthday Month wreath:
Location: my front door
Tomorrow begins birthday month at our house.  We have a lot of celebrating to do and since I don't really care for St. Patrick's day, I made this fun balloon wreath to help us celebrate this fun month of festivities. This was super duper easy.  I bought a Styrofoam wreath form at Jo-Ann's and then a bunch of balloons at the dollar store.  I hot glued the balloons onto the wreath form.  No patterns just random selection.  I just glued and glued until it looked good. There are places that are pretty thick with balloons.  I should mention that I was worried the hot glue would melt the balloons but it didn't.  Also, I found hot glue sticks that are made for Styrofoam projects.  It's supposedly a low temp glue.  Either way, there was no melting and this thing turned out so cute. Happy Birthday Month!!!
