Oh no...Not the "S" word!

Today as we were getting ready to head over to church, our parrot of a child said her first naughty word. As we were all getting dressed, Ned let the "S" word slip. I gave him my usual look of complete disapproval, but thought nothing more of it. Then from the other side of the room, my darling, innocent, small child, muttered the same dumb word. It was clear as a bell. I was alarmed, however, I am told that this was one of my first words. We looked at each other and laughed (which was the wrong reaction). In the next few minutes she said it a handful of times. I thought, "How can I take this child to Nursery? She will offend the teachers and corrupt the other children." As I was mulling this over, she started to whine and her nose started running. Yes! Runny nose = no nursery. Saved by the snot! I left Ned and Abby home to learn some clean words, and ran to Primary. She must have forgotten about it, because we haven't heard it again today. Hopefully that will be the last we hear the dreaded "S" word.

I love it!!!! Why is it so funny when kids swear??? We laugh too and then never hear it again. Now we have 2 kids that repeat everything that we say, we need to be more careful for sure!

How funny! There's still the "d" word and a slew of others to look forward to. Congratulations on the vocabulary milestone.

That is funny! I guess you could say "like mother like daughter?"

It will be just a few years and she will be learning the F-word on the bus going to first grade!

You can always hope. Forrest learned all his swear words from a little three year-old in his preschool class. I thought it was the high school students, but after the teachers paying really close attention they noticed it was this really innocent looking three year-old.

Too funny. It's nice to know that there are SOME parents that leave their kids home when they have a runny nose. Our nursery class was full of at least 4 of the 9 kids having runny noses or coughs. Thank goodness for the hand sanitizer!!

That is so funny. Gracie has yet to say a naughty word, which I am totally surprised by because Erik has a terrible mouth. I'm sure one will slip out anyday. My mom said when I was little I got home from nursery and was calling a tomato a 'som b****', she says she is still embarassed about what I might have said that day at church. At least you have a cute story to tell her when she's older!
