Sister Shop Day 2008!
Yes! It finally arrived - a day reserved for SHOPPING with NO CHILDREN! What a great idea right? Well let me just tell you about the wondrous day. Ned's family has a Sister Shopping Day when Ned's mom, sisters, sister-in-laws, and nieces that are old enough all go shopping together. Great right? This year, it was yesterday! We headed to the Fashion Place mall at around 9:45 in the morning (we were supposed to leave at 9:00, but due to MY tardiness, we left late - oops!). We shopped for a while and then stopped for lunch. For me shopping and food just go hand in hand. We had these great sandwiches from a shop that I can't remember the name of. It was great! Plus, to make MY day better, I got a large Orange Julius! I love those!
After the food, we got a little silly. We were in Down East Outfitters and Melinda wanted to see what an outfit looked like, but didn't want to try it on herself. Suzie was nominated as our official model. She tried on a few outfits and this one was the best by far.
After that we hit Nordstrom and Melinda started trying on hats. This was a funny moment that we caught on the camera. Why is it that some people can wear hats and others can't? I am one of those that can't.
Once inside Express, Suzie decided that I needed to be the model and wear something truly hideous. She put this little number together. I'm not sure which is worse? The garments sticking out of the shirt, the hooker shoes or the sequin pants? I was having high school drill team flash backs of the uni-tard that we wore. YUCK!
After the Fashion place mall, we came to the Newgate Mall and found these sexy little numbers in Dillard's. We didn't want to actually try them on, so this is as good as it gets. Just use your imagination - okay, so maybe don't do that.
I love this day each year! I am so grateful to have married into a family with this fun tradition. It gives the girls a chance to have some good quality bonding time. Plus nothing says bonding like 3 or 4 girls stuffed in a dressing room trying on jeans.

I am just MAD! that I didn't try on the last dress. What a let down! Are you emailing me the pictures yet so I can post! Thanks for making the day so much fun! We always have a great time!
PS I think you really should go back and get that outfit from Express and the red shoes. I know that you were debating on it! HAHAHA
I forgot: The Sandwiches were from the Great Steak and Potatoe Company! Don't EVER forget. They are Heaven on earth, Really!
