Missionary Monday

March 14, 2011:
"Hello everyone!!  Well this week was another good week in the offices! The assistants were gone the entire week doing divisions, as well as President and his wife doing conferences and interviews. So us secretaries basically had the place to ourselves haha... The power went out twice this week. When it first happened I was scared it was because I hadn't paid the bill, but I found the bill and it still had a few days left, so anyway we were without light for a couple days as well as air conditioning.... or computers to do any of the work we needed to do.  Oh well, there was of course other stuff to do!! So this week our bishop called us and told us he had someone for us to teach. So we called the guy and his name is Ismael. We asked him when we could meet and he told us the next day at 6 at the church. Well, we went to the church at 6 and he was there waiting for us. He is really cool, and is quickly gaining a testimony. We committed him to baptism for the 2nd of April, and I really think he will make it. We asked him at the end of the lesson when we could meet again and he said the next day at 6 in the church. Once again he was there waiting for us. He had read the part we marked him twice, and prayed, and said he was feeling new things that were really good. He is 19 and really wants to make the best out of his life. So we watched the Restoration with him and showed him the church and the font and everything, and he was really excited. He then told us where he lives, and he lives one block outside of our area, into the other secretaries area!!!!! ahhh!!!!!!!!!! So we are going to keep teaching him with them on divisions and things, because he is the best. He even asked if he could serve a mission after he gets baptized!! We have an appointment with him tonight, that I am excited for. I will update you on it."

"Well, this Friday the office areas, together, are having a Mexican Fiesta night in the church.  Of course I have to be in charge of it...but whatever...We´re going to have tacos, and a piñata, and other stuff.  We are thinking we are going to tie it in, with the history of the church in Mexico, and talk about the facts about the church and tell some stories of early Mexican saints...I don´t know...we´ll see. But it should be a lot of fun!!  Well, we all heard about the Earthquake.  It´s pretty big news down here, We found out on LDS.org.  I´m glad that Kel is safe!!! I thought he was still in the MTC! I´m sure he will have the chance to do a lot of service.. or are they just going to take all of the missionaries out of there?? Send me news when you have it!  Well that is about it.. We have been finding some really cool people the last few days. I will tell you more about them after this next week. I hope we can get them all to the church!! I love you all and hope you have a good week!"
